200g bar plain chocolate, broken into chunks
150ml pot single or double cream
sugar to taste
6 peppermint candy canes, to serve
Add the chocolate to a saucepan along with the milk and gently heat this whilst stirring until the chocolate has melted. Keep the saucepan on the hob until the milk is steaming and remove from the heat and stir in the cream.
Divide this between cups, add the sugar to taste and place a candy cane on the edge of each.
Stir the hot chocolate with the candy cane to ensure the peppermint dissolves.
